27, 2011 - The 221-room Hampton Inn & Suites, one of the few
projects to begin construction in Miami last year, is topping off and
expected to open in September. The 15-story hotel at 50 SW 12 St., which
includes a five-story garage atop, is being developed by Brickell Hotel
Group, with Bernard Wolfson, president of Hospitality Operations, as the
developer's general partner. The $36 million project was funded in part
by an $18 million construction loan from Wells Fargo and a $5 million
secondary loan from Monday Morning Mortgage & Investment Co. The hotel
is estimated to create 100 hospitality-related jobs when it opens. Mr.
Wolfson said timing is perfect with the economy recovering. "Bringing a
new moderately-priced hotel to this exciting market is a rewarding
achievement."
